Extraordinary Everyday
“Mama, help me dig a moat please?”
Nudging the dog aside, I sat down on the sand and started digging. As I worked the Minnie Mouse trowel through the March earth, Wyokiddo chattered on happily.
“And we’ll put the towers here, and the drawbridge can go here. And the dog playground can go over here.”
Because every mid evil castle had a dog playground, right?
We returned home an hour later with dirty clothes and sandy hair. My husband greeted us in passing as he headed out to collect pheasant eggs.
“How was your day?” he asked our daughter.
“Great!”
As we walked to the house, she grabbed my hand and hugged it. “It was great because we were together. I love hanging out with you, Mama.”
Life advice from a 5-year old. The everyday is extraordinary when you spend it with people you love.
