Torrington Wyoming Photographer - Images from the Heart
My favorite images are most often the unplanned ones…a moment between father and daughter, a sleeping puppy, an unguarded smile. These photos, a moment snatched away from the present and stored for the future, are who we are in the everyday.
A mom at the pool looked at my “fancy camera” and said how lucky my daughter is that she’ll have professional pictures of her childhood. I laughed and said she didn’t care how fancy my camera was, she just wished I’d put it away.
The thing is, 30 years from now, our children aren’t going to care that one of the highlights was blown or that we cropped the image funny. Those things only impress other photographers. They will cherish the memory of sitting with their Nana on a park bench, enjoy looking back at their favorite toys, recall funny moments from the family vacation or the time Dad turned on the stereo and decided his teenage daughter needed to learn to country dance.
Those are the images, the memories, that will stop us in our tracks one day.
Fancy cameras are great. Images taken from the heart are worlds better.
