Liz, Andy & Family - Wheatland Newborn Lifestyle and Family Session
I don’t care how many kids you’ve had or how prepared you were for the birth…having a baby smack dab in the middle of a burgeoning global pandemic would have been stressful and scary. And yet this family was full of nothing but love and grace and joy as they welcomed their new son into the world and their family.
I’d originally planned to shoot a newborn lifestyle session for Liz and Andy in March. But the uncertainty over Covid19 and a few early health issues with their little guy pushed our session back to May. And as much as I love sleepy baby snuggles, I think it was honestly more fun to see him at almost two months old. I got to see the emergence of a personality, a smile and a sharp roving of the eyes to locate mom anywhere in the room. Our delayed session also meant that his big sisters had settled into their roles as protectors and helpers and were excited to interact with me.
Liz and Andy, for their part, were amazing. Their warmth and genuine kindness hinted at their mid-Western roots. We talked about what it means to be a state employee, how eastern Wyoming is such a great place to raise a family. And we maybe bonded over the fact that while we love our communities, we miss the high altitude deserts, mountains and abundance of public lands of western Wyoming. They were the kind of people that made you instantly want to be their friend.
It was a beautiful morning in Platte County, with a clear view of Laramie Peak and only a hint of that Wyoming breeze. We might have been delayed in officially photographing the little Mr. A here but when we did make it happen, it was a perfect spring morning in honor of a perfect, healthy, beautiful little boy. Congratulations Liz and Andy, he’s amazing!
