O

One of my favorite memories growing up is of spending weekends in Laramie hanging out with my big sisters in college.  As a family photographer, seeing that bond between sisters come to life and the genuine affection these people have for one another was an absolute treat for me.

Renee snagged one of my discounted photography sessions as part of my Leap Year contest and organized family pictures in June for her blended family.  Renee was joined by her husband Tim, her two grown daughters, and their youngest daughter, Camryn.

I’ve known Tim since college, having had him decimate me and my partner more than once in a game of pitch.  And Renee taught my daughter a few years ago.  But this was my first time meeting their two older daughters.

All three girls are absolute treasures.  Emily and Erin are college students.  They were both just so down to earth and some of the most genuine young women I’ve met in a long time.  I loved how they cheered and teased their baby sister.  I know she looks up to both of them, and they are great role models for Camryn.

I’m not strictly a lifestyle photographer, but I tried to work some sweet candid moments into these family photos.  I stole Tim and Renee away for a quick walk.  The girls take some sister photos.  I encouraged them to laugh and joke and just enjoy the evening.  Between their perfect summer outfits, the sweeping backdrop of the Goshen County rim, and their wonderful attitudes, the result was magic.

You Should Always Enjoy the Experience

Seeing the whole family interact and just enjoy the process of having their photos taken made me happy!

In fact, when clients say “We had so much fun!” that is the best compliment you can give this family photographer! That means you feel comfortable around me.  I WANT you to love your family photos AND enjoy the photography experience.

Servant Leadership

One of my favorite things about this family is their service to our community.  A few weeks ago during a middle school basketball quad, all of them were in attendance helping.  They ran the clock, kept the book, helped with concessions, cheered on the kids and more.  And that’s not anything unusual.  They are a family who loves this community, sports, and believes in our kids.

It’s been a tough year for educators like Tim and Renee.  But I’m so thankful we have people like them in our lives.  They make school a great place for my kid.  They’re raising daughters with great morals and teaching them to be confident, capable, and caring.  And they’re not afraid to show each other love and admiration.

I’m gladI was able to join them for this beautiful photo session and get to know them all a little better.
