November 5 is National Red Head Day and I’m celebrating by sharing some images from a session with some of my favorite red heads in all of Goshen County!

I adore everyone in this family.  I admire Levi for his easy going and friendly personality.  I admire Sara for her openness with just a hint of sass and commitment to raising a family with values and integrity.  I love Tripper’s grin and sense of humor.  I am especially entertained by how you can practically see the devil horns poke up on his head when he gets an idea that’s maybe not entirely on the up-and-up.

But Kaycee, now there’s a girl after my own heart…she would rather play sports and ride horses than talk about hair or nails.  And she loves her jeans and boots all things country.  But it’s her heart that I admire the most.  She is so genuine and kind and always has a minute to say hi to my pesky six-year old.  She has a quiet confidence and genuine gentleness about her that I truly adore.

Our session was complete with resplendent sunsets, cooperative horses, a photo bombing McNab and hordes of angry mosquitoes.  I could have done without the mosquitoes, but everything else was a lot of fun.  Maybe the saying is wrong…maybe redheads have more fun.

Denmark believes it’s an honor to have a redheaded child.  I think that’s probably true as some of the most amazing and resilient women I know are redheads.  What I know for certain is that it was an honor to take photos of this partially red-haired family, mosquitoes be damned.
