Large Family Portraits - The Wilson Family
I’m a sucker for stories. I love hearing how you met and fell in love. How you grew up, how you got started in business, or how you came to live in Goshen County . Our stories are all unique. So taking large family portraits is fun for me because I get to hear ALL the stories!
Photographing a large family portrait session for Candi and her family was an absolute delight. I’ve taken family photos for Candi, Matt, and their girls a few times. But this time, I actually met part of Candi’s story when I met her sweet parents and her sister, brother-in-law, and nieces.
The Wilson Clan had gathered to celebrate the life of a family member who had died earlier in the year. They chose to honor that life and those memories by making more and documenting some of their time together with a session.
Stories abounded! I heard about growing up and raising kids near Shoshoni. Her parents and I bonded as fellow long-time state government families. I learned who carries the ornery sense of humor in the family, who embodies unconditional love, who is rooted in Wyoming’s open vistas and who needs a more urban landscape to feel whole. And I was able to see Candi through the eyes of her family and know her story a little better. It made me adore her even more.
Our time together was short and sweet, but the imagery we capture will endure.
Seeing multiple generations love, fight, laugh, tease, and adore one another is my favorite part of large family portraits. I get to:
- See who you come from, where you get your values.
- Meet those people who give you strength, have your back, and love you to pieces.
- Catch a glimpse into who you were, why you are, and where you’ll go. I hear and see and meet more of your stories.
It’s an incredible privilege.
When it comes to large family portraits, my philosophy is the more the merrier. More family photos, more people, more stories, more love.
Have a big family that’s a big challenge? No problem!
I have a big family. So I get it.
Managing and coordinating a large family photo can be exhausting. You just want that one perfect large group photo to hang on the wall but EVERYONE wants to give input. About EVERYTHING.
There are lots of personalities and history there. You have no idea how to pose large families and how can you be in the family shot if you’re also the family photographer?
Don’t stress it. Stop stressing and start enjoying family pictures!
With my “The Whole Flock” large family portraits collection, I’ll take charge, get everyone together and take beautiful photos. I’ll pose family members, make your love the focal point and nail that oh-so-important family shot. Contact me today!
