Wheatland Family Pictures - Glover Family
I know, and am friendly with, the majority of my clients. But occasionally, clients I’ve never met find me. They land on my webpage or get referred to me by others. I love referrals, not just for the chance to have a new paying client, but because I get to meet people I otherwise never would. The Glovers were one of those clients that found me and hired me for Wheatland family pictures
I’m so glad they did because these people are definitely my people. They were fun, not afraid of being silly, kind, and genuine. Exactly what every family photographer wants in her subjects.
Valerie and Scott needed a photographer for their July backyard wedding in Wheatland, Wyoming, but also craved really beautiful updated family photos. All of their grown kids would be home for the wedding and Valerie really wanted new family photos. But she also knew the timeline of weddings were often tight and the day a little stressful. I put together a custom quote for her and she chose to have family photos taken after her rehearsal dinner instead of cramming them in before or after the wedding.
Weddings are a popular time to take extended family pictures. After all, you’re all dressed up and looking GORGEOUS! And family that lives miles apart often come together for these events. But wedding timelines are usually cramped, and it’s hard to feel relaxed and happy when you have a few hundred guests staring at you as you take photos.
Separating family photos from the stress of the wedding day was a wonderful idea. We could take our time and have fun. We also laughed A LOT and captured some silly photos that ended up being some of my favorites.
My favorite moment was seeing how much fun Scott’s grandsons had with their new uncles. There was lots of teasing and roughhousing, proving that boys of all ages are pretty much the same. Valerie’s three boys reminded me of the boys I grew up with in high school, complete with a little teasing, great manners, and the right combination of oneryeness and fun.
But there was also lots of love and happiness. At a time when the world was still uncertain and a little scary, being surrounded by this beautiful family so full of excitement to come together was truly a blessing.
